B-day Weekend

Yum, Kaleb and I splurged and had bought an ice cream cake....this was my piece (I wish). Then we made a halloween gingerbread house. Fun to make but since we bought it last year the candy seemed to turn to rocks. Then time for the annual pumpkin mutalation.
And the results are in.....
It was a fun weekend with my parents and we squeezed lots in.

Happy Birthday times 2

Happy Birthday A big happy birthday wish for Kaleb...he is 5 today!! Today is also my b-day, but if I don't celebrate it then does that mean I don't age??? Well, I am very lucky to share my day with my son. I love you!!
As for illnesses....today is the first day we don't have any fevers!! Klara actually ate cereal today and Kaleb had some toast. Small victories but I'll take them!!

Aghhh

Ok, now both kids have this hand, foot and mouth disease. Kaleb started this morning. So a trip to the dr today and the dr said his mouth was pretty bad...then she saw Klara's mouth and said this is almost the worst case she has seen. So no day care this week, no b-day party this weekend and sleepless nights for now. I know....woe is me. But, I am going to try and get a pic of Kaleb and I together and send it in to Fox10 news for the b-day announcements for Thur the 23rd. So if you have nothing going on at 8am....take a peek. I hope our pics will be there. Otherwise, please keep us all in prayer for fast healing.

Sears Pics

We went to Sears this weekend and here are a few of the photos I liked. We ended up buying the 2nd family photo with us on our tummies. This was the best part of our day...but read on.

What a trooper the kids were. Kaleb has a awful cough at night so he was a bit sleepy that day. Klara had not eaten and had a fever....I now think she has "hand-foot and mouth disease" as of tonight. A call to the dr will better clarify tomorrow. Her mouth looks like a bomb went off and she has the classic sores on her hands and feet as of this evening (Sunday night). So I may end up with the whole week off of day care and I can only pray that Kaleb doesn't catch it and ruin our b-day plans for this weekend. Oh, and while I'm on this pitty party I'm having tonight.....Dexter may have prostate cancer, but we would only know if we spend $400 for the x-ray, ultrasound, anesthesia, and lab fees. That doesn't include meds he would need. Currently he is on a bland diet....boiled chicken and rice and 4 antibiotics daily for 10 days. Then we go from there......boo hoo.

Camping Weekend

The boys (Clif and Kaleb) went camping this weekend with some friends of ours. It was the boys weekend out. Here is Kaleb in the back of what I hear was a very loaded van sitting by his friends. They went to Big Lake near Showlow. It was rainy and cold weekend and they ended up with snow....while in their tent. I guess my boys slept in the van that night to be warmer instead of the tent. Good thing I wasn't there, we would have found the nearest hotel that night. I'm not much for tents anymore.....camper, YES!
This is looking over Big Lake.....
You can tell it's fall by the changing colors.....well, winter for them...hehe.
I should mention....the girls stayed here where we did a pizza night, sleep over, pool time, foot pampering soaks, cocktails, and tons of laughs. What a great weekend!

Other News

We did it. We bought a swing set. So here is the set up.And now it's time to play!! They love the swings. It has a teeter totter too. We also took a trip to Sycamore Falls. It was a nice day and we had a picnic lunch.

Walking With Dinosaurs

What a great time this was. We went to Phx for a super quick weekend and we were able to see this show. We were told we could not bring in a camera so my dad got these pics with his phone. So they are pretty blurry but give a good idea of what we saw. The show was awesome! The dinos were huge, there were flowers and trees that "grew", a volcano, dino fights, a forest fire, even things that would fly...and much more. Of course the show ended with the T-Rex. That was the only thing that was a little scary for Klara. Otherwise, both kids were glued to the show. Klara kept telling the dinos "that's my mommy". I think it was a little reassuring for her. These pics make it seem that we were so far away but we were not. Dad got great seats and the view was perfect!
