Planes, Trains and Automobiles

Not in the exact order I wanted these pics to go, but I just want them published. I have chores to get done still. So....we had ice cream before we left Flinstone Park....it was yummy since we were hot. Notice the kids red hot cheeks. Since we had already traveled out there, we stopped at the "airport" and inside were all these old cars in perfect condition. It was also inside so it had a/c.

We also went to the air museum. It cost too much so we just looked around in the lobby and outside. This red plane was hanging from the ceiling....neat.

OK, back to Flinstones Park...there was a free train ride. (A cheesy golf cart that pulled 2 cars) It was free so we rode it a few times. The highlight of our curved track was the travel thru the volcano...again, cheesy, but the kids LOVED it.

Again, a fun family trip and soooo very glad we took the kids at this young age. We can now officially say, "Been there, done that."

Flinstones Park

We started our vacation week with a trip "down the road" to Flinstones Park near the Grand Canyon. It's a bit of a rip off, but perfect for our aged kids. I think older kids would not have liked it as much. I took a bunch of random pics and have posted quite a few for your enjoyment.

It was a fun day even with Klara tripping and hurting her knee and elbow....3 times!!

Wood Splitting

We were able to borrow a wood splitter to take care of our huge pile. Clif was working pretty hard on it and has lots done.
The kids are loving it. Not too loud or scarey.
After an hour, he's gotten lots of it done. Still more to go. Once the wood is split, he'll re-stack it along the fence. Then it's time to go get more....and repeat the above steps ;)

T-Ball Pics

Kaleb's T-ball team group pic. I forgot I had these pics so I thought I would share them best I could. We don't have a scanner, so I took a pic of the pic....hahah. Above, Kaleb is 3rd one in from left on the bottom row.
His personal pic and with the group.

Hats

The kids did some crafts after Kaleb did his school. He made his hat while I made Klara's. Together we decorated them. We took pics b/c he wanted to put his hat on the computer to show his family. He understands that his grandparents and other family look on line to see pics of us. I think he's hooked....

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day I love this picture of daddy with his kids!! Below, he opens his gift....the expression is great!
Yes, more vbs (vacation bible school). This was our last night and the parents got to watch the kids. I'm so proud of Kaleb participating!
His vbs class.

Klara's New Big Girl Bed!!!!!!!!

OK, tissue please for mom......Klara said good-bye to her crib.......and......Hello to her new big girl bed which I add, she LOVES IT!! (sniffle) She even got to help daddy put it together. Here she is pulling off the plastic overwrap.
Look how small she looks on a twin. (sniffle, sniffle) We'll keep her against the wall for awhile until she learns to stop falling off. I hope the falling was due to her small crib. Last night was her first night in her new bed and she didn't fall out. Like the other bedrooms, we will wait until after a massive garage sale in late July and then work on paint and other decorations to make their rooms look more finished.

More VBS

I just have to show more of VBS. This is Kaleb after craft time.
And here he is being a crocodile during game time. I love the bottom pic.

VBS 2009

It's VBS time and this year it's "BoomerRang Express". Here is the hat I made. I bought it as a plain brown hat from Michaels and then used what I had at home for decorations.I made a train (keeping with the vbs theme) of the motto this year.
"Follow, Worship, Live through Him!"
Some smart people at church made this train.....so had to get a pic with the kids.
Kaleb in his class. Klara is in the nursery during the night.
Last night's rec time.....trying to stay dry.....but not complaining about the rain. We got 1/2"!!
A side note. I went to the dr....again....since my last illness of sinus, double ear infection and bronchitis was not gone after meds were done. The dr said I still have all of the same illnesses but much worse. She said that if I had gone another 2 weeks without meds, then I would have ended up in the hospital. Geesh. So 5 prescriptions later, I'm on my way. Of course this has to happen the same time as vbs where you have to give 150% to the kids....so that's been a struggle. However, we are making it through. This morning, Clif headed to the dr himself. He certainly has the sinus infection too. So we could use some prayer for healing. Our little family is having quite the time trying to get and then stay healthy. Please hold us up in prayer.

Princess Hair and Bedding

Klara got some new play jewelry and wanted a pic with it.

She also loves princess hair. That's what we call it when we let out a all day braid.

We got some bedding for our new bed. It's still a work in progress, but I love the colors and bedspread. I didn't know how hard it is to find king size pillows that don't cost an arm and a leg.
A close up shot of the detail on it. Very pretty.

Bread Buddies

A school project to learn measurments.
A think "dough" like mix.
Cookie cutters, or playdough cutters work.
Here's the recipe. Next time I would put a hole in them to make it more like an ornament. Then cook and paint. Ours ended up in the trash.....too many crumbs when they were played with.
